This is Pete Jr - our newest adopted family member.  He's about 4 and that's a silver dollar.

Baby cottontail rabbit at it's nest.  The second cutie is in the hole.  The nest got pretty wet during a heavy rain so we put a small piece of plywood over the shallow nest to keep the two babies dry.  We also put out some shredded blue cotton in case mom wanted to reline the nest.

This is about a 5ft long bull snake.  What a beauty!

Look closely at the center of the picture to see the head of the bull snake in the previous photo.

Ricky the Rattler (or Betty the Buzztail).
I just relocated this beauty from our front porch.

Harriet Javelina crossing our wash.
If you look closely at her rear legs you can see two tiny young ones.

This gila monster is over 1ft long.

Beep Beep!  The cats hadn't noticed this roadrunner (yes it's real) looking in the front window.

One of the local heard of javelina heading to our watering hole.

Adults with two young javelinas heading back to the wash.

Tina the Tarantula.

Beautiful young kingsnake.

Not too big (about 2") - but painful if they sting you.

These Harris Hawks hunt in groups.  The next pole over had two more hawks.

Couple of turkey vultures.

A nice big bull snake on out back porch.

Charlie wondering if a bull snake would taste like chicken.

Look closely.  You can see the bull snake asking a packrat over for lunch.
We don't know if the rat accepted the invitation.

Ratbert hanging out in the shade of the front porch.
